Below is a 4 day / 3 night sample itinerary to give you a general idea of our Ilulissat Winter Adventure:
Your local guide will take you on a walking tour of town so you can learn more about the history, culture and lives of people.
In the evening go on a northern lights hunt by snowshoe or snowmobile.
Overnight at Hotel Arctic for 3 nights.
A dogsledding tour where you start with cruising across the glaciers with beautiful views and also experience riding a sled amidst the icebergs.
Optional add-ons:
2-day dog sledding expedition with an overnight in rural cabins or tents
Take a morning boat tour to the isolated settlement of Oqaatsut, also known as the Red Bay for its history of whale hunting.
In the evening, you will join a group to visit a turf hut in the mountains. Spend the evening getting to know the locals whilst wrapped in sealskin blankets, listening to tales and myths from ancient times and enjoying coffee and Greenlandic traditional bites.
In the morning, take a boat trip to get close to the icebergs and marvel at their beauty.
Later go on a snowmobile adventure into the glacial wilderness and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and fjords.
